My Summary
About Me
I am a compassionate, emotionally intelligent and adaptable childcare professional with experience supporting children across nursery, specialist SEN education and child-focused healthcare settings. I am passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, secure and valued, enabling them to develop confidence, resilience and independence while reaching their individual potential. I believe every child is unique, with their own personality, interests and developmental journey. My approach is centred around recognising each child's individual needs, encouraging curiosity through meaningful play and providing consistent, responsive care that supports emotional wellbeing, confidence and positive development. I strive to build trusting relationships through patience, empathy, positive communication and reliability, ensuring children feel understood and supported in their everyday lives.
My experience has provided me with a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding responsibilities, family-centred care and inclusive childcare practices. Supporting children with additional needs has strengthened my ability to adapt activities, communication approaches and routines to promote independence, participation and confidence while respecting each child's individual strengths and abilities. Alongside my practical childcare experience, my Child Nursing studies enhanced my knowledge of children's physical, emotional and developmental needs, health promotion, observation skills and the importance of collaborative working with families and professionals. This experience has strengthened my commitment to providing high-quality, nurturing childcare where children are supported as individuals.
I am now seeking a full-time live-in/out nanny position and am happy to relocate anywhere within the UK for the right family. I am looking for a role where I can become a trusted and dependable part of family life, supporting children with their routines, learning, creativity and emotional wellbeing through a warm, professional and nurturing approach.
My Experience
My professional childcare experience spans nursery, specialist SEN education and child-focused healthcare settings, where I have supported children from newborn babies through to adolescents. These roles have enabled me to develop a holistic understanding of children's physical, emotional, social and developmental needs while delivering compassionate, child-centred care tailored to each child's individual needs.
Within my nursery role, I supported children through daily routines, transitions, mealtimes, personal care and play-based learning experiences that encouraged communication, confidence, creativity and independence. I contributed to creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children could develop through exploration, positive interactions and age-appropriate activities, while building trusting relationships that helped children feel secure and valued. I consistently prioritised children's safety by maintaining a vigilant approach, recognising potential risks and adapting activities and environments to ensure they remained safe, engaging and developmentally appropriate.
During my placement within a specialist SEN school, I worked closely with children with complex additional needs, providing individualised support that reflected each child's communication style, sensory profile and developmental abilities. My responsibilities included supporting learning activities, assisting with personal care, using Makaton to facilitate communication, promoting emotional regulation and adapting activities to enable every child to participate confidently. This experience strengthened my understanding of neurodiversity, inclusive practice and the importance of consistency, patience and flexibility when supporting children with additional needs.
Alongside this, my Child Nursing studies provided valuable hands-on clinical placement experience across paediatric wards, where I cared for children ranging from newborn babies to 16 year-olds. Working alongside registered nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, I developed a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, family-centred care and children's physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing across every stage of childhood. My hospital placements exposed me to a wide variety of acute and long-term conditions, enabling me to communicate confidently with children of different ages while providing reassurance and emotional support to both them and their families during what were often challenging circumstances. Under the supervision of registered nurses, I gained experience assisting with medication administration, undertaking and documenting clinical observations, maintaining accurate patient records, implementing infection prevention and control procedures, supporting personal care and contributing to the safe delivery of holistic, family-centred care. I also gained valuable experience caring for newborn babies and supporting parents during the postnatal period by assisting with newborn care, promoting safe care practices and offering reassurance as families adapted to caring for their baby. These experiences reinforced the importance of secure attachment, responsive caregiving, consistency and working collaboratively with parents to promote children's wellbeing, healthy development and positive outcomes.
The responsibilities I have undertaken closely reflect those required within a private household. I am confident supporting newborns, infants and older children with established routines, sleep schedules, personal care, preparing nutritious meals, planning enriching age-appropriate activities, encouraging learning through play and creating a safe, structured and nurturing home environment. My ambition is to become a trusted and dependable part of family life, providing consistent, attentive and professional childcare that enables children to flourish emotionally, socially, physically and developmentally.
My Qualifications
I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and have completed NHS Statutory and Mandatory Training for Healthcare Students (Health Education England), including safeguarding, Level 2 First Aid and moving and handling training. I completed 1.5 years of BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child) at Edge Hill University, gaining knowledge and practical experience in child development, safeguarding, family-centred care, paediatric health and supporting children and families through clinical placements. I also hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma from Alpha Academy with specialist training in Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia, alongside a NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism and GCSEs including English and Maths.
