Play Buddy / Activity Companion Wanted

I'm looking for a friendly, energetic and playful person to become a buddy for my 10-year-old son, who is now in Year 6.

My son is autistic and has ADHD. He experiences high levels of anxiety, can become overwhelmed, and needs plenty of reassurance and encouragement to engage in activities and interact with others. I'm looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with him and help him feel more confident through companionship, play and shared experiences.

I'm looking for someone with a fun, playful and proactive personality who enjoys getting involved and brings lots of positive energy. They should be able to help my son feel safe and supported while gently encouraging him to step outside his comfort zone. I will be present during all outdoor activities.

I'd love to introduce him to a wider range of activities, some he already enjoys like mini golf, alongside lots of new things he hasn't tried yet. Outdoors, activities will include visits to theme parks, museums, play centres, parks and other places, playing outdoor games, supervising him on his bike and other activities. Indoors, we'd focus on activities like Lego, arts and crafts, board games, vocabulary games and general knowledge quizzes, things that engage him creatively and help develop his language and knowledge skills.

The main focus is building his confidence and helping him feel more comfortable getting out and about, with lots of encouragement, reassurance and motivation to support him throughout. What's really important is someone with a naturally playful, creative and enthusiastic personality who can engage with him genuinely, have fun and build a real connection. Someone patient and understanding who can actively encourage him to join in and enjoy activities at his own pace.

Ofsted registered, or willing to become Ofsted registered, would be desirable.
