About Me
We are a happy and busy family of four in Notting Hill, looking for a part-time SEN nanny starting at the end of August/ beginning of September. The role will include after school help (3:30-7pm, Mon-Fri), holiday help (8am-7pm, Mon-Fri, ten weeks of the year) plus babysitting and occasional mornings. We are ideally looking for a live-out nanny who lives close by.
My Requirements
We are looking for a kind, energetic and confident SEN nanny to support our children – a boy age 10 and a girl age 6. Our son is spirited, extremely determined, curious and fun-loving with a love of football, Lego, card games, board games and nature. Our daughter is very bubbly, strong-willed and outgoing and loves to play with dolls, Sylvanians and Polly Pockets.
Our son is diagnosed with ADHD, Dyslexia and Dysgraphia and attends a mainstream school setting most of the time but has all English lessons at a specialist Dyslexia centre. Whilst our daughter will soon be assessed for Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. They are both great characters, endearing and fun!
This is a shared care role together with me, a hands-on Mum, in our very open and supportive home. Our son can push boundaries; therefore, we need a nanny who is confident managing behaviours day-to-day and can effectively implement strategies and techniques to help de-escalate. Key aspects of the role are supporting the children with their self-regulation and encouraging a caring relationship, as well as independence. Both the children love to play, so it’s essential to have a passion for play and having fun! We have a cat and a hamster.
The typical nanny duties include school runs, assisting with homework, playdates, activities and trips out and about, cooking, bath and bedtime routine, etc.
WHO THE ROLE WOULD SUIT
The role would suit someone happy, caring and fair who loves to play and can build a strong connection with our children. Experience working with ADHD and behaviours that can challenge, and a team player who is also confident working sole charge. Someone living in or close to Notting Hill would be a huge advantage to help with occasional school drop-offs in the mornings (when one parent is away) and earlier starts during school holidays. Non-smoker. A driver would be a bonus, but not essential.
