My name is Grace, and I am a qualified primary school teacher. I live in Gedling with my partner, David, in a house with a large indoor and outdoor space. I have a clean driving license, and there is usually a free space for you to drop your child off in the morning. Becoming a childminder is something I feel passionate about, specifically being able to meet every individual child's needs within my care.
I provide a safe and nurturing home where children's well-being is promoted through secure relationships, and an enabling environment. I believe children excel when they feel they are truly cared for and encouraged to explore their interests. My setting is spacious and has a dedicated playroom for children with a wide range of toys and resources. Each day within the setting is different and your child will have fun on trips to the farm, library, and playgroups each week.
My Experience
I am a qualified teacher and over the last three years I worked within an early years unit within a school. I bring a wealth of knowledge in understanding child development and ways in which to help children reach their full potential. I have worked with children who have SEND by creating developmentally appropriate activities and adapting their environment to meet their needs. I also have extensive experience of working with children who have English as an additional language and targeting support for them to gain fluency.
I have previously worked in childcare within day nurseries and a school nursery before my time in teaching. This allowed me to gain experience in caring for and meeting the needs of children under the age of 3. I regularly complete CPD to stay up to date with the latest safeguarding training and appropriate course for best practice within my setting.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified primary school teacher. (QTS)
I have a BA degree in early years and education.
Level 2 and 3 childcare CACHE diplomas.
First aid certificate.
