About Me
Hi, I’m Emily, I’m a Mum of 1, and a pet owner.
I like spending time in nature, on my allotment and growing food. I love the seaside and I am becoming happier with taking life at a slower pace.
I like cooking, baking, reading a knitting.
I use a mixture of Montessori & forest school approaches in the day to day, so the setting is low stimulation, and focus’ on developing children’s intrinsic motivation, flow state and attention span in a calm and warm environment.
I am also passionate about nutrition and food. I don’t use ultra processed foods, preferring to make things fresh. I use French and Italian food cultures as inspiration, so we eat a lot of fresh, nutritious foods, including breakfast, two snacks, a daily 2 course dinner of soup and then a main course and tea.
My Experience
I have spent about 7 years working with children. I have worked with babies from 3 months old up to children age 11 years old.
I worked in a baby room, 2-3s, and in foundation stage.
For 3 years I worked in an out of school club with children from 4 to 11 years.
I taught 4-5 year olds for 2 years in a private international kindergarten.
Then I fancied something a bit more complex so I stepped into working with adults, I’ve worked with adults with disabilities, adults who are elderly, in probation, in prison and most recently in GP surgeries.
But now, the more gentle pace of working with children is what feels right for me, the development each and every day and the routines that take up the whole day. And honestly? The lack of screen time.

- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
