About Me
I am a qualified and experienced primary teacher with over ten years of experience working with children across EYFS and the primary phase. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree, and I am passionate about supporting children to grow in confidence and reach their full potential academically and personally.
My teaching experience, combined with my work as a supply teacher across Nursery to Year 6, has given me a strong understanding of how children learn at different ages and developmental stages. I provide patient, supportive and engaging tuition tailored to each child’s individual needs, helping them feel comfortable, motivated and confident in their learning.
I specialise in supporting children in reading, phonics, literacy and primary maths, and I have experience delivering phonics schemes including Read Write Inc., Little Wandle, Jolly Phonics and Letters and Sounds. I aim to create positive learning experiences that build confidence, independence and a love of learning, while also supporting children with homework, preparation for assessments and general progress in school.
I also have experience supporting children with SEND and EAL, and my TEFL qualification and personal experience of learning English as an additional language allow me to support children sensitively and effectively.
My Experience
Over the past ten years, I have worked in a variety of school settings across EYFS and primary education, including permanent teaching roles and supply teaching positions from Nursery to Year 6. My main teaching experience has been within Early Years and Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1, where I have supported children in developing strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics.
As a supply teacher, I have worked across different schools and year groups, which has strengthened my adaptability, flexibility and ability to quickly build positive relationships with children. This experience has also given me a broad understanding of the primary curriculum and how to support pupils with different learning styles and abilities.
Alongside my teaching career, I have worked as a nanny caring for toddlers and babies, including children aged two and a half years and seven months old. This experience has further developed my understanding of child development, emotional wellbeing and the importance of creating a safe, nurturing and structured environment for children.
I have extensive experience supporting children with phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, handwriting, spelling, maths fluency and homework support. I use a calm, encouraging and personalised approach to help children feel secure in their learning and develop confidence in their abilities.
