About Me

We’re a warm, busy family of four based in Tilehurst, along with our two much?loved dogs. Our 7?year?old son is autistic and non?verbal, and while he has some additional needs, he fully understands everything, is doing brilliantly at school and brings so much joy to our home — he’s cheeky, funny, and absolutely adorable.

We’re looking for a reliable, kind and organised after?school nanny to support our family during weekday afternoons (Mon - Thurs 3pm–6pm). This role is about more than childcare — we’d love to find someone who can become a trusted and valued part of our daily routine, helping to create a calm, happy and nurturing environment for our son.

My Requirements

After School Nanny
Part Time Nanny
Special Needs Experience

We’re looking for a warm, reliable and experienced nanny to help care for our son in a safe, happy and nurturing environment. The role involves providing attentive, age-appropriate care and supporting day-to-day routines such as collection from school, meals, hygiene, and attending afterschool activities.

We’d love someone who enjoys planning fun, educational and play-based activities, encouraging learning through reading, creativity and play, and preparing healthy meals and snacks. Light child-related housekeeping, such as tidying play areas and children’s laundry, would also be part of the role, with the children’s safety and wellbeing always coming first.

Previous nanny or childcare experience is essential, along with a good understanding of child development. Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) would be highly desirable, and any experience working alongside or supporting Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) programmes would be a strong advantage.

Paediatric first aid and a DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) are important, and an early years qualification would be a bonus but isn’t essential.

We’re hoping to find someone who is kind, patient, trustworthy and proactive, with strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach. There may be some flexibility needed for occasional evenings or extra hours. The role is part-time after school hours from 3pm - 6pm but there may be some flexibility needed for occasional evenings or extra hours. References will be required.
