About Me
I am a caring,reliable and experienced childcare professional with many years of experience working with children of all ages and abilities. Before training to become a teacher, I worked in a nursery for six years, where I developed a strong understanding of child development, care and creating safe supportive environment for children.
I am currently a full-time Food Technology teacher in a secondary special needs school, where I work closely with children and young people with autism and additional needs. Alongside my professional experience, I am also a parent to two children - a son and a daughter. My son, who is 23, is neurodivergent, which has given me valuable personal experience and understanding of supporting children with additional needs both emotionally and practically.
Through both my career and personal life I have gained extensive experience supporting children with a wide range needs, personalities, and age groups. I am patient,nurturing, understanding and commited to ensuring children feel safe, happy and supported in my care.
My Experience
I have a strong background working with children and young people across education and childcare settings. My experience includes supporting children with daily routines, encouraging independence, promoting positive behaviour, and creating a safe and supportive environment where children can feel comfortable and confident.
I spent six years working within a nursery setting before moving into education, where I trained as a teacher. I now work within a secondary special needs school, supporting students with autism and additional learning needs. This role has given me extensive experience adapting communication and activities to suit individual needs and abilities.
Alongside my professional experience, I have many years of personal experience as a parent, which has strengthened my understanding of the importance of patience, consistency, empathy, and emotional support when caring for children and young people.
I am confident supporting children with a range of personalities, abilities, and needs, and I always aim to provide a caring, calm, and positive environment for every child in my care.

My Availability
I am available most evenings, weekends, and during all school holidays, offering flexibility for families who may need additional childcare support.
