About Me
We are a hardworking and caring family working within the care sector. My wife is a manager in a care home, I work as a senior carer in a care home, and my sister-in-law also works in a care home. Because of our work schedules, we are looking for reliable childcare support for our son.
Our son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and requires additional support, patience, understanding, and a structured routine. He is a lovely child, but he may need reassurance, calm communication, and support with transitions and daily activities.
My Requirements
Our son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and currently receives 1:1 support at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School.
He prefers a calm and familiar routine. He currently eats a very limited diet and mainly only eats brioche bread. He is not keen on trying new foods offered to him. He also enjoys watching TV most of the time, although he can engage in outdoor activities and play for short periods with encouragement and support.
He is not yet potty trained and will require assistance with personal care. Because of his additional needs, we are looking for someone patient, understanding, and experienced or comfortable supporting a child with autism and sensory or communication difficulties.
There are also times during the middle of the school day when he can become upset or unsettled. On some occasions, the school may contact us to collect him early if he is struggling to regulate or for the safety of others. We would appreciate someone who understands these situations and can be flexible and supportive when needed.
