My Experience

January 2020 – Present: Pastoral Leader, Glenmoor and Winton Academies
Key responsibilities:

• Working with the Vice Principal and Head of Year, to work with individuals and groups of students, to help them to achieve to the best of their ability.
• Provide support for students' emotional and social development by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour.
• Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
• Encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage in all students in activities.
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
• Support students consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
• Be aware of and support difference and ensure all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• Communicate and liaise with other members of the team and external agencies to ensure the most effective provision for students' academic, emotional, and social development (such as social care and youth services)
• To promote the safeguarding of young people and ensure that statutory and Ofsted requirements for Safeguarding is met.
• Maintaining an appropriate and professional distance with students.
• Accompany students to off-site activities as required, in accordance with policies and safety guidelines, aiding with students' care and welfare.
• Improve student attendance through monitoring, completing daily phone calls, home visits and attendance meetings.
• Supervise students at lunch and break time and contribute to out of school learning activities
• Being friendly, helpful, and welcoming to parents and others visiting or contacting the school.
• Attending staff meetings
