About Me
We are a friendly and busy family based in Balham with two teenage boys aged 14 and 16, both at private school and heavily involved in sport and after-school activities. We are looking for a reliable, organised and proactive person to help keep the household running smoothly during the week.
The role is primarily focused on household support, cooking and helping maintain good routines for the boys after school. We are looking for someone warm, sensible and calm who is comfortable around teenagers and able to encourage independence and tidiness while providing structure and support where needed.

My Requirements
We are looking for a part-time after-school housekeeper / family assistant to support our household Monday–Thursday, 4pm–8pm during term time, with more flexibility during school holidays. Start date would be September 2026.
The role is mainly household-focused and includes:
- Preparing healthy evening meals for the family
- Occasional packed lunches
- Weekly food shopping and keeping household supplies stocked
- General tidying and organisation (no deep cleaning)
- Keeping kitchen and living areas orderly
- Encouraging and overseeing our boys to keep their rooms tidy and maintain good routines
- Occasional errands such as post office or dry cleaning
The role also involves being present when the boys get home from school, helping ensure homework, sporting activities and evening routines run smoothly. This is supervision and support rather than hands-on childcare.
We are looking for someone reliable, proactive, organised and comfortable around teenagers. A confident cook and someone able to work independently would suit the role well. References and previous experience in a similar position are preferred.
