Seeking after-school nanny with SEN experience
About Me
We are a family of 4 and enjoy an active life and sporty life style with our 2 girls. As a family, we enjoy cooking, cycling, rugby, many types of outdoor activities, swimming, holidays and movie nights.
My Requirements
We are seeking an after-school nanny Monday to Thursday during term time as our current nanny of 3 years is retiring from September. The role would require care for our daughter with special needs, aged 9. We also have a 13 year old who attends secondary school.
Our 9-year-old has learning difficulties and attends a special needs school. She has transportation provided and the bus will drop her back around 4:15. We require an after-school nanny to help with the core hours between 4pm and 7pm and cook the occasional meal for the girls if we are both working.
A little bit more about our 9-year-old. She is wonderful smiley girl who is lots of fun. She has severe learning difficulties caused by a rare genetic disorder and she continues to amaze us with her progress. She has additional diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. She learnt to walk at the age to 3, and since then has become steady on her feet and now runs - she has lots of energy. She is developing use of many words and communicates using PODD (pictures) book and gestures and can make choices between toys and food. She has a few words for her favourite things such as balls, bubble, horse and cat. She uses hand gestures and pointing to an object if she wants something and she will also bring toys or show you to what she is interested in playing with. She loves being outside on trampoline or making bubbles. While she has a short attention span she will concentrate on toys and books she enjoys. She has had nanny’s before and always forms a wonderful bond with them she isn’t afraid or shy of new people.
