About Me

Hi, I’m Charis !

I recently stepped away from my role in SEN education to focus on providing more personalised, meaningful support for children and families.

I’m incredibly passionate about supporting children with additional needs, and I strongly believe that we should adapt the world around them, not expect them to adapt to fit into it.

Through my work, I’ve built strong, trusting relationships with a wide range of children, particularly those with moderate to severe needs. By creating a calm, understanding and flexible approach, I’ve seen just how much progress can be made when a child feels safe and truly understood.

For my tutoring rather than relying solely on traditional sit at a table learning, I like to incorporate real life experiences and child led interests into sessions to help build confidence, communication, independence and enjoyment around learning.

This may include:
• outdoor learning and nature based activities
• baking and cooking
• games and interactive learning
• sensory activities
• role play and imaginative play
• community-based learning
• arts and crafts
• life skills and independence building
• movement-based learning
• learning through special interests

Every child is different, so sessions are adapted to suit their individual needs, strengths and learning style. My aim is always to create a calm, supportive environment where learning feels achievable, positive and enjoyable.
