My Summary
About Me
I’m an enthusiastic, confident and qualified childcare practitioner with 13 years experience. I put the parents trust and expectations at the forefront of my work successfully providing a safe, comfortable, trustworthy environment for children to develop their basic learning skills.
My ambition is to continually exceed childcare health and social care standards, curriculum guidance and continually improve the quality of service provided. I strive to provide a strong foundation for young children to grow and develop their basics education skills to best prepare them for their next steps into school. I like to work in partnership with the parents/carers in support in getting it right for the child.
I have built a strong understanding of children's physical, social, intellectual and emotional development and, have an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of childcare principles, practices and techniques.
My Experience
I have been currently working at Lullaby Lane nursery for the last 3 years as the Team leader, as one of the most experienced Practitioners in my organization I use my skills and experiences to help mentor educate and train modern apprentices and newly qualified staff to the childcare industry. As a team leader I have to formulate rotas and routines with my colleague based on the children in that day. When the senior staff member has been on annual leave I have stepped into the role confidentially leading the room and delegating tasks to the team members creating a calm environment for staff and children. Management have been very thankful and felt reassured in me in taking on this role to help with the day to day jobs. I organize group events for parent involvement such as Parents evening/parent forum, curriculum nights, nativity and daily trips with the children. I also have undertaken many child protection cases in work and have been able to help and support the families and children affected, by putting things in place with my practice. I ensure new staff when they start in the setting that they are made aware and familiar with Nursery practice codes of conduct, policy, procedures and risk assessments. I have also lead training with some of my staff team on different types of play and experiences for children, to help support and motivate them with their job role.
My Qualifications
I have an SVQ level 3 in social services and young people and currently completing my SVQ level 4 which focuses on leadership within childcare settings.
