About Me

Hiya my name is Pennie. I’m 28 years old.

I offer babysitting in Horsham West Sussex on weekends and school holidays. Evenings, days or overnight stays.

I don’t drive yet but I’m confident and able to use public transport, this doesn’t stop me being able to get out and about with the kiddos!


A bit about me…

I’m a bubbly, kind and empathetic individual, I have so much time for children they really are at the core of my heart.

I’ve been babysitting for many many years since I was in my teens, starting with my own younger siblings and neighbours children in the block taking them to the local park, cooking dinners, helping with bath time and bedtime. I did my level 1 in childcare in college during my last year of school. I then went on to hairdressing and after qualifying realised my heart was with working with children.

I started in a nursery and stayed there for a short while before moving into care work, I wanted to work within a primary setting and thought I’d try something new until the opportunity arose.

I then joined a wraparound care company where I work in a primary school as the manager now offering breakfast and afterschool club. I also sometimes work for a holiday club alongside this. My role involves preparing and serving food and drinks, following the EYFs frame book doing different topics to help their personal social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development. We do lots of crafting and outdoor play, we make use of all our junk modelling the children love a bit of recycling to make rockets with! I encourage independence but will help where needed, I like to encourage children with their emotional regulation and understanding their emotions and how to cope with them in a safe and appropriate way. My favourite thing of all is just having so much fun! I want to hear the children laughing, seeing them smiling and having the best time while they’re in my care.

Overall I love helping children with crafting, getting outside and involved in their games. I love hearing their little stories and watching their imaginations run wild! You could say I’m a big kid myself just with the added responsibilities of keeping everyone safe and happy!
