Nanny in Shrewsbury
My Summary
About Me
I am a university student studying in Oxford, and I am home for the summer looking for an opportunity to spend time with children in a fun, active and caring environment. I have a warm, enthusiastic and spontaneous personality, with a love for creating positive experiences with and for those around me. Having grown up surrounded by animals, particularly dogs and horses, I have a huge love for the outdoors and love being active, whether it's through outdoor activities, dog walks, runs or riding. I'm a very responsible and friendly person and I would love the chance to bring that enthusiasm to a role working with children and a family this summer.
Although I go back to uni in October, I do have reading weeks, long Christmas and Easter holidays and I am available most weekends. So I could potentially offer more of a long term role if desired.
My Experience
I have several years of childcare experience, having babysat for local families since the age of 16. My responsibilities have included evening babysitting, school runs, summer holiday care, overnight stays, and helping to keep children entertained in a safe and engaging environment. Alongside childcare, I have also housesat for a wide range of families, caring for dogs, cats, and horses, which has strengthened my sense of responsibility and adaptability.
After leaving school, I spent a year in United States as an au pair for three children. My role involved preparing the children for school, helping with homework, driving them to activities, organising playdates, and planning fun activities. During the school day, I also managed household tasks such as shopping, laundry, dog walking, and coordinating household schedules, including appointments for grooming, gardening, and car servicing. This experience taught me how to manage a busy household independently while remaining organised and dependable.
Since starting university in Oxford, I have continued nannying for two families. One role involves collecting a young child from school, keeping him entertained, and preparing meals until his parents return home. The other is a weekend role supporting a family with four children, helping with transport to sports matches and playdates, as well as assisting with routines before the children return to school on Sunday evenings.
