About Me

Hello, my name is Melissa.

I have a background in mental health care, where I have supported people living with severe mental health challenges. This experience has shaped my compassionate, patient approach and given me a passion for supporting not only children, but also their parents and families.

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childminding, a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, and an Advanced Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies. Alongside this, I am trained in Safeguarding Children, Paediatric First Aid, and Food Hygiene; all of which ensure that children’s safety and wellbeing are always at the centre of my practice.

I am married with a young family of my own, so I understand first-hand the joys and challenges of raising little ones. I love gardening and find real joy in planting and nurturing things as they grow; something that inspires the way I approach childcare too.

I also have a creative side and enjoy expressing my faith through art, poetry, and writing and have a published poetry book that explores overcoming life's challenges through faith in Christ.

My Christian faith is central to my life. Jesus has transformed my heart and spirit, and it is a privilege to pour that same love, creativity, and encouragement into the lives of the children in our care.

For me, childminding is about more than meeting children’s needs, it’s about creating a safe, loving space where they can flourish and feel truly valued.
