My Experience

I am very enthusiastic about looking after children and helping to introduce them to our world with curiosity, learning, enjoyment, and safety first. My experience with child care started with my sister being born. From the age of 15, I have helped raise her, from naps to play time and everything in between. She was 5 weeks premature, so I am very used to looking after children from very young. I have worked occasional days at a nursery since I was 16, with children aged 3-5. This involved reading to the children, playing, helping with arts and crafts, and attending to them during snack times. I volunteered at a ballet school, helping teach children aged 3-7 to dance and handing them over to parents at the end of sessions. I worked at a week-long children's theatre school, helping teach 7-11-year-olds dance, singing, and acting. In this, I played with them, supervised them when on free time, and helped out when they needed assistance. I babysat for a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl. In this, I made them home-cooked meals, played board games, did colouring with them, and got them ready for bed. I volunteered at a children's drama school in New Zealand for a month, teaching children aged 3-16 singing and dancing, ready for a performance. I also looked after them in a theatre, keeping them safe. My family were part of a charity called “friends of Chernobyl”, where we took in a 7-year-old girl from Russia who didn’t speak any English for a month.

My Qualifications
