About Our Family
We're Brent and Jenny, an American family based in Stratford/East London, and we're looking for a nanny who genuinely loves children and can connect with each of our kids as individuals.
The Kids
Foster (13) is our eldest, a football-mad, good-natured teenager who's easy company. He's sociable, grounded, and pretty self-sufficient, but loves having someone around who takes an interest in what he's up to.
Matilda (12) is our baker, our social butterfly, and another football fan. She loves spending time with friends, getting creative in the kitchen, and is great at keeping herself entertained.
Ed (8) is football-obsessed and an outdoor kid through and through. If he's not kicking a ball around, he's outside exploring. Full of energy and always on the move.
Penny Lane (6) is six going on fifteen. She's fiercely independent, loves setting up her own little classroom and playing teachers, and has a big personality to match.
All four are well-mannered, independent kids who are used to managing themselves and don't need constant entertaining. They love being outdoors and each have their own world. We're looking for someone who'll take the time to understand and nurture those individual personalities rather than treat them as one unit.
My Requirements
The Role
Beyond childcare, we're looking for someone who takes pride in keeping the home tidy, stays on top of the kids' laundry, and is happy cooking meals in the evenings. These are core parts of the job rather than occasional extras, and we'd love someone who approaches them with the same care and enthusiasm they bring to the children.
Our Setup
Both of us work from home. Brent is an advertising executive and travels periodically, and Jenny is an online therapist whose sessions typically run until 7 or 8pm. The core hours are school pickup through to around 8pm, with some flexibility needed during school holidays.
We're a busy, warm household and we'd love to find someone who feels like part of the family rather than just a pair of hands. Our current nanny has been with us five years and is departing after the summer!
