My Experience

I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, in a lively and close-knit family where caring for younger children was part of everyday life. As one of the older ones, I naturally took on responsibilities for younger siblings and cousins, helping with feeding, getting them ready for school, supporting homework, and keeping them engaged through play and storytelling. These experiences shaped my patience, attentiveness, and genuine love for caring for children.

This caring nature has also been reflected in my humanitarian work. I served as an Anti Gender-Based Violence Campus Ambassador with the EU–UN Spotlight Initiative and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), where I engaged with communities and supported awareness programmes focused on protection, wellbeing, and safeguarding. I was also actively involved with initiatives such as the Green Janitors Sustainable Initiative and LEAP Africa’s Youth Day of Service, where I contributed to community projects and supported vulnerable groups, including women and children. These experiences strengthened my empathy, sense of responsibility, and ability to create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments.

Alongside this, my professional background in administrative roles and media has helped me develop strong organisational and communication skills. Working as a radio presenter and online reporter, I learned how to remain calm, attentive, and adaptable, even in fast-paced or high-pressure situations. I am confident in listening carefully, responding thoughtfully, and managing different responsibilities effectively, skills that are very important when caring for children and supporting their daily routines.

Now that I am in the UK, I am seeking a nanny role where I can bring together my natural care for children with my experience in supporting people from different backgrounds. I enjoy creating a warm, structured, and engaging environment, whether through reading, creative play, or simply being a calm and reliable presence children can feel comfortable with.

Looking ahead, I hope to build meaningful relationships with families while providing consistent, compassionate, and trustworthy care. My goal is to support children’s growth in a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where they feel valued and confident.

I have certificate on safeguarding, First aid, food safety and hygiene, autism awareness.
