About Me
Hello, I'm a mum of two teenagers and love being around children. I childminded for 10 years while my children were young and then worked in a primary school as a teaching assistant, also covering breakfast and afterschool clubs. I work from home for my husband but am looking at flexible nanny/babysitting jobs or holiday help.
My Experience
As a childminder I looked after children from 6 months - 12 years old, so I have lots of experience with all ages. My children are now 18 and 16 so also have lots of Mum experience! When working in a school I worked alongside a teacher and also did small group learning which focussed on reading and writing skills, mostly for key stage 1. I enjoying being around children and am happy to park trips, woodland walks, farm visits or just as happy to stay at home and entertain with age appropriate activities.
My Qualifications
Most of what I have learnt is through experience and on the job training, I have completed a level 2 in understanding specific learning difficulties which really helped with working in the school. I have also done safeguarding and first aid (although not recently) and prevent training.
