About Me
I’ve just finished my classes and final exams and I’m graduating this summer from university where I studied International Relations and Politics. I really enjoy learning and I’m especially drawn to understanding different cultures, travelling and picking up bits of new languages whenever I can.
I’m a massive foodie and I love cooking, trying new restaurants and finding new flavours, whether that is something simple or something I have never tried before. I also really enjoy reading and writing and I always have my Kindle with me so I’m regularly reading on the go.
In my free time I like being outside and staying active. I enjoy hikes, roller skating and cycling around central when the weather is nice. I also love spending time with my family, since I’m the oldest sibling and grandchild, so I’m very used to being around younger children, helping out and naturally taking on a responsible role, which is something that has always come quite naturally to me.
My Experience
I have a range of childcare and youth work experience across different settings and age groups. In sixth form, my friend and I ran a KS2 gardening club with our school’s partner primary school. We organised materials and activities for a group of around 25 children and taught them about gardening and how to grow plants, which was a really rewarding experience working with younger children in a structured setting.
I have also babysat for different families over the years, including a family the summer before I started university, and two families while at university from 2022. This sometimes included helping with light cleaning and supporting evening routines.
In 2025, I spent three months in Madrid working as an au pair, where I was responsible for day to day childcare, routines and creating a safe and engaging environment for the children I looked after. I also volunteered for a month at Harlem Park Community Farm in Maryland, working with teenagers in a hands on environment focused on farming and outdoor learning.
More recently, I have been working as a temporary teaching assistant through an agency since 2025, supporting in classroom settings and adapting to different schools and age groups.
My Qualifications
I have completed my GCSEs and studied A Levels in Politics, English Literature and Geography. I am currently graduating from university where I am predicted a 2:1 in International Relations and Politics.
Alongside this, I am completing a TEFL course and I am planning to start a PGCE in September, with the aim of working in education long term.
My Availability
I’m available Monday to Friday and can be flexible with hours depending on the family’s needs. I am happy to do school drop-offs and pick-ups, after school care and evenings. I can also be available for occasional weekend babysitting with notice. I am also open to providing local emergency childcare where needed.
