Registered Childminder with Special Needs Experience Job in Lichfield
About Me
Hello, my name is Jo and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder based in Lichfield.
I am a warm, caring and compassionate person who is passionate about supporting children to learn, grow and develop in a happy and nurturing environment. As a parent of three teenagers, I have many years of practical parenting experience and understand how important it is for families to find childcare that feels safe, supportive and trustworthy.
Alongside my experience as a parent, I have worked within primary schools, including Reception classes, where I gained valuable experience supporting children's early learning and development. I have also worked with older primary-aged children and have experience providing one-to-one support for children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
I believe every child is unique and deserves to feel valued, encouraged and included. My aim is to build strong relationships with children and their families, providing a home-from-home environment where children can flourish, gain confidence and enjoy their early years.
My Requirements
I provide a warm, welcoming and home-from-home childcare environment where children can feel safe, happy and supported to reach their full potential. I offer a variety of engaging activities tailored to each child's age, interests and stage of development, including arts and crafts, messy play, storytelling, role play, music, cooking and outdoor learning opportunities.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children through play-based learning that encourages curiosity, creativity, confidence and independence. Children have access to a range of resources and experiences that promote their social, emotional, physical and communication development.
I believe in working closely with parents and carers to ensure continuity between home and my setting, creating positive partnerships that support each child's wellbeing and learning journey. My setting is inclusive, nurturing and respectful of every child's individual needs, abilities and interests.
Funded childcare places are available for eligible children, and I am committed to providing high-quality, flexible childcare that meets the needs of local families.
Qualifications and training:
I hold a DBS, Paediatric First Aid certificate, Prevent Duty training, and Food Hygiene certification. I also have a Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Early Years Child Development training, and Advanced Safeguarding training. In addition, I hold an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities.
I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide safe, high-quality, and informed care for all children in my setting.
