About Me

I am a qualified teacher now specialising as an online private tutor with nearly 30 years experience.

My Experience

I have worked extensively with SEMH students (10 years experience working with LAC in the home, in school and PRUs) providing learning and exam support and building confidence. It is with this experience that has informed my teaching practise and, where needed, I initially work on building trust and confidence which are often barriers to accessing the curriculum.

I have taught English at GCSE level for 30 years. In addition to English GCSE I also teach psychology and sociology a-levels.

Prior to teaching full time I worked for 12 years in medicine and research.

My Qualifications

I hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Sociology as well as qualified teaching status.

My Availability

I work Monday to Thursday in term time and Monday to Thursday in the holidays by negotiation.

My Fees

  • Tutoring from £35.00 per hour

GCSE - £35 p/hour
A-level - £40 p/hour

A session is 60 minutes long. Within those 60 minutes time is available at the beginning and end to get settled and also ask any questions.
