My Summary
About Me
I am an 18-year-old student with a genuine passion for supporting and caring for children. Throughout school, I have coached students in Years 7–11 and volunteered as a reading mentor in junior schools, helping younger children develop their confidence and literacy skills. I also hold a Teaching English qualification and a Peer Mentoring qualification, which have strengthened my communication and support skills. In addition, I have experience caring for young family members, including babies, and I am confident in cooking, baking, cleaning, and creating a safe, nurturing environment. As an animal lover who enjoys helping others, I find working with children especially rewarding. I have also completed the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which developed my responsibility, teamwork, and leadership abilities. I will be studying Psychology at university, furthering my interest in child development and supporting people’s wellbeing.
My Experience
I have gained valuable experience working with and supporting children through a variety of roles and volunteering opportunities. At school, I coached students in Years 7–11, helping to develop their skills, confidence, and teamwork. I also volunteered as a reading mentor in junior schools, providing one-to-one support to younger children and encouraging their literacy development. Alongside this, I have experience caring for babies and young children within my family, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and engagement through age-appropriate activities. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, patience, responsibility, and problem-solving skills. My Teaching English and Peer Mentoring qualifications have further enhanced my ability to support young people effectively, while my Duke of Edinburgh Award strengthened my leadership, organisation, and teamwork abilities. Through these experiences, I have developed a genuine passion for helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
