Babysitter in Liverpool
My Summary
About Me
A little bit about me is that I am a kind, patient, and easy-going person. I grew up in Ireland with my two siblings and was raised in a close family environment. One of my siblings has cerebral palsy, which gave me an understanding from a young age of patience, empathy, and the importance of supporting others. My parents separated when I was younger, but I have a good relationship with both of them and regularly spend time with each side of my family.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by family and learned the value of responsibility, kindness, and caring for others. These experiences played a big part in inspiring my passion for healthcare and helping people.
I am currently living in Liverpool and studying Nursing at university. I have just completed my first year and am continuing for another 2 years to become a fully qualified nurse. Through my studies and placements, I have developed skills in communication, organisation, and providing care to people of all ages and backgrounds.
In the future, I hope to have a rewarding career in nursing while continuing to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Alongside my studies, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active, shopping, and gaining experience working with children and families. I have been a childminder since the age of 16, starting with my siblings, cousins, family friends, and then families I’ve met from childminding pages.
I am eager to get back to childminding since moving to Liverpool, as I love gaining bonds with families and children and watching them grow along the way. I hope to be considered for a job opportunity!
My Experience
I have plenty of experience growing up in a large family with many young cousins, which gave me regular opportunities to care for and support younger children from an early age. I naturally took on a responsible role within the family, helping to supervise, entertain, and look after my cousins in different situations, whether during family gatherings or day-to-day visits.
I have also cared for children in three different families. The first was a family friend, where I looked after two children aged 4 and 6. This was mainly an evening role, where I helped get them ready for bed while their parents were out. The second family I worked with was through an online arrangement. The children were aged 12, 8, and 5, and this was a daytime role while their parents were at work. My responsibilities included preparing meals, engaging the children in play and activities, and completing light household tasks to support the smooth running of the home. The third family I worked with was through an online arrangement also. The child was aged 11. This was an overnight stay and included morning routines.
From these experiences, I learned how to confidently care for children of different ages and adapt my approach depending on their needs and personalities. I developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to stay calm and responsible in different situations.
