Ofsted Registered Nanny / Family Assistant – Teenager, Mon–Fri 9–12
About Me
I'm a working mum looking for a warm, capable and reliable person to become a regular part of our weekday routine.
I work primarily from home and need protected time in the mornings to focus on work, knowing that everything else doesn't have to fall to me at the same time!
We're a relaxed, friendly household and my son is a bright, independent teenager. He doesn't need or want someone hovering over him, so this isn't a traditional nanny role involving constant supervision or entertainment. It's much more about having another trusted adult around who can quietly keep an eye on things, help the day run smoothly and make sure the practical things he needs are taken care of.
I'm fairly easy-going and don't want to micromanage someone. I'd much rather find somebody proactive who gets to know us, understands how our household works and can see what needs doing and get on with it.
I'm hoping to find someone kind, sensible, organised and easy to have around, who is comfortable with teenagers and understands the balance between providing support and respecting their independence.
My Requirements
I'm looking for an Ofsted-registered nanny/family assistant for my teenage son, Monday to Friday from approximately 9am–12pm during term time. However, this can be flexible.
My son is fairly independent, so this isn't a traditional nanny role requiring constant supervision or entertainment. I'm looking for someone who can provide a responsible adult presence while I'm working, check in with him, support his daytime routine and generally make sure everything he needs is taken care of.
A significant part of the role will be the practical things that support his day-to-day life: preparing lunch, snacks and meals for later, some batch cooking, keeping on top of his laundry and bedding, washing and organising football kit, helping keep his bedroom/study areas organised and making sure the things he needs for schoolwork, football and his general routine are ready.
I'd also like help with grocery organisation/shopping where needed, keeping the kitchen clean after cooking, general tidying and light household tasks that help keep his home environment organised and running smoothly.
I'm not looking for someone to hover over him — quite the opposite. He needs age-appropriate independence. I'm looking for someone warm and approachable who can build a natural relationship with a teenager while being a dependable adult presence in the background.
The right person will be proactive, organised, a confident cook and comfortable getting on with things without needing a detailed list every morning.
Ofsted registration is essential as payment will be made through a registered childcare scheme. I'm particularly happy to hear from self-employed nannies who work with several families and are looking for regular weekday morning hours.
Rate: approximately £20–£22 per hour depending on experience.
There may also be occasional additional hours available during school holidays, evenings or at other times by mutual agreement.
