My Requirements

We are looking for a warm, reliable after-school nanny for our two boys, aged 7 and 4, starting from the new school year in September.

The role would ideally be **Tuesday to Thursday, 2.30pm to 6.00pm during term time, approximately 39 weeks per year**. School finishes at 3.15pm and is next door to our house, so the role would involve arriving before pick-up, doing some light child-related tidying or preparing snacks/simple food, then collecting the boys from school and looking after them at home until early evening.

There may also be occasional holiday work or babysitting if you are available, but the core role is term-time after-school care.

*We would be happy to arrange a paid trial if it seems like a good fit.*

The main responsibilities would be:

* Light child-related tidying before pick-up, such as tidying toys, loading/unloading the dishwasher, preparing snacks or simple children’s food
* School pick-up and bringing the boys home safely
* Helping them settle after school with a snack and relaxed routine
* Playing, reading, doing activities, or going to the park when appropriate
* Helping with simple homework or reading practice
* Preparing a simple children’s dinner
* Light child-related clearing up after food, toys and school items

We would love to find someone kind, calm, dependable and proactive, who enjoys spending time with young children and can help create a relaxed but structured after-school routine. The boys are energetic and benefit from clear boundaries, patience and kindness.

Experience with primary-school-aged children would be very helpful. DBS, references and first aid would also be preferred.

We are ideally looking for someone who can do the full 2.30pm to 6.00pm slot, but we can be flexible for the right person — for example, a slightly later start may work as school is very close by. We can also discuss exact days and any flexibility around occasional holiday work or extra hours.
