About Me

My name is Vandna Najran and I am a qualified Early Years Practitioner with a level 3 diploma in Early Years Education and an Ofsted registered Childminder with a good rating. I am also a postgraduate with a degree in Chemistry and Environmental Science.

I have four years experience looking after children gained in a high quality private nursery and several local schools. I offer personalised, small group childcare for 4- 11 year olds and focus on making every contact count by enabling learning and personal development through play. I provide nutritious snacks and flexible hours for working parents and:

- School pick ups and drop offs at Streetsbrook, Langley Primary and Sharmans Cross School and others within a 3 mile radius of my home
- Breakfast club from 7.30am - 9am , after-school club from 3.00pm - 6.15pm
- Weekend arts and crafts and sports coaching on a Saturday or Sunday.

My provision

I am situated next to Palmers Rough, local nature reserve at the back of Streetsbrook Infant and Early Years Academy. I am one minute from Streetsbrook Infant school (rear entrance) and five minutes from Sharman's Cross School and Langley Primary School part of the Tudor Grange Academy.

I offer a safe and stimulating child care provision and am keen to build innovative teaching and learning methods that enhance children's innate skills. I focus on providing loving, attentive one to one care and spending time playing with children using every moment to impart skills, learning and awareness. As well as fun, creative arts and crafts and sports activities, I offer support with homework. I have vast experience of working in different industries and public sector organisations such as the NHS and a passion for learning and life which I share with kids. Kids pick up on this energy and respond positively which motivates me further.

I know that good values are the bedrock of positive child development and shape lives. I bring good values, character building and learning to life by:

- Simple story telling, linking arts and crafts to story telling
- Encouraging children to read short stories with a moral
- Teaching children about the consequences of their behaviour
- Encouraging children to re-tell these stories, using props such as puppets and playing out small scenes
- Building emotional resilience and problem solving skills through mindfulness activities

This helps children with presentational skills, speech and language and communication development, numeracy and literacy and knowledge and awareness of the world, different cultures and appreciation of the vast opportunities available to them. I am passionate about supporting children to identify their strengths early on and gain confidence to make the right choices for themselves.

Weekend Arts and Crafts and sports coaching

I work with an arts assistant to offer weekend sessions for 4- 11 year olds. If you discuss your requirements I can organise a session for your child, their friends and others. You can do this on a regular basis or to celebrate a birthday or a special occasion such as mothers day, Halloween etc. I can make it memorable, fun and provide a unique learning experience

Partnerships

I am committed to working in partnership with parents, schools and the Solihull Council Early Years Team. I am particularly keen to support parents who are working, who require extra support and schools who are struggling to provide one to one care or manage behaviour that may be better managed in small group settings

I am passionate about developing children's Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). This involves activities that help with mental and emotional well being such as journaling, yoga, story telling and creative writing
