About Us

Prospect Grange Kids Club

About the Club

Prospect Grange Kids Club is situated next to Palmers Rough, local nature reserve and is at the back of Streetsbrook Infant and Early Years Academy. It is a beautiful quiet spot where early mornings are filled with birdsong. In the afternoons children's laughter can be heard from Streetsbrook Infant and Early Years Academy which is a stone's throw away. We are located two minutes from Streetsbrook Infant school (rear entrance) and five minutes from Sharman's Cross School.

We are particularly keen on school pick ups and drop offs at Streetsbrook, Tudor Grange Primary and Sharmans Cross School all of which are on my doorstep.

The service offer

In this natural setting we offer an Ofsted registered, safe and stimulating child care provision. We focus on providing a healthy breakfast and building children's resilience and self confidence through mindfulness activities to start the day.

In the after school club as well as fun, creative arts and crafts and sports activities, our staff including those educated to degree level offer support with homework .

This high quality home from home nurturing out of school service offer is suitable for children who prefer one to one support and small group environments.

Building good values and character in our children

We know that good values are the bedrock of positive child development and shape lives. We bring good values and character building to life by:

- Simple story telling.
- Encouraging children to read short stories based on simple morale's
- Teaching children about the consequences of their behaviour
- Encouraging children to re-tell these stories, using props such as puppets to perform for others
- Link arts and crafts to story telling

This helps with:

- Presentational skills
- Speech and language and communication development
- Numeracy and literacy development

Partnerships

We build partnerships with nearby schools and develop our reflective practice with Solihull Council Early Years team and other specialist child care agencies.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is of course the number one priority. We ensure our processes, practices and policies embed safeguarding and prioritise the health and safety of your child.

About me

My name is Vandna Najran (Vina)and I am a qualified Early Years Practitioner with a level 3 diploma in Early Years Education. I am an experienced Kids Club Manager and Early Years Practitioner. I have had a varied career and worked in the National Health Service (NHS) for over 20 years, in local government, environmental organisations and industry before working in early years education.

I am passionate about ensuring every child has the right start in life. This includes supporting children to identify their strengths early on and gain confidence to make the right choices for themselves.

I am committed to working in partnership with parents, schools and the Solihull Council Early Years Team to create a strong team around your child. I am particularly keen to support parents who are working, who require the extra support and schools who are struggling to provide one to one care or manage behaviour that may be better managed in small group settings

I am passionate about developing children's Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). This involves activities that help with mental and emotional well being such as journaling, yoga, story telling and creative writing
