Part Time Nanny with Special Needs Experience Job in Bury St. Edmunds
About Me
Family of five: Mum, Dad, and three boys — Archie (17), Noah (9), and Fred (7). Fred has Autism Spectrum Disorder (non-verbal) and a well-managed respiratory condition. We're looking for a part-time nanny with experience supporting children with additional needs, mainly for respite care and support, with an increase in hours over the summer holidays (17 July–31 Aug).
My Requirements
Fred is a generally happy boy who thrives with routine and a gentle, calm approach. His main area of challenge is communication, which can be a source of frustration for him. We're looking for a nanny with specific experience supporting non-verbal autistic children who can bring patience, calm energy, and a genuine eagerness to play and engage with him on his terms.
We need support on weekday mornings (before school) and weekends, though this won't be regular every week — it depends on our budget and funding. Hours will increase significantly over the summer holidays (17 July–31 Aug).
This is our first time hiring a nanny, so we're very new to this and may need some patience as we navigate the process together.
