Hello, I'm Lori. I am a caring, reliable, and passionate childcare professional and proud mother of two boys aged 3 and 12. I am based in Langlands, close to Abington Vale, where I run Dandelion Days Childminding.
At Dandelion Days Childminding, I focus on helping children learn through play in a warm, nurturing, and home-from-home environment. I believe children learn best when they are having fun, exploring their interests, and engaging in meaningful experiences that support their development, confidence, and independence.
We are fortunate to be within walking distance of both Abington Vale Pocket Park and Abington Park, providing wonderful opportunities for outdoor play, nature exploration, physical activity, and community experiences. I enjoy incorporating regular outings and outdoor learning into our days, helping children develop a love of nature while supporting their physical, social, and emotional development.
As both a childcare professional and a mother, I understand how important it is for parents to find a setting where their children feel safe, happy, and valued. My aim is to provide a caring and stimulating environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace.
My Experience
I am an experienced childcare professional with a strong background in supporting children with a wide range of learning, developmental, and additional needs. Through my work in education and childcare settings, I have developed a thorough understanding of child development, individual learning styles, and the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
In addition to my professional experience, I am a proud mother of two boys. Raising my own children has given me valuable insight into the day-to-day needs of children at different ages and stages of development. It has strengthened my patience, empathy, and understanding of the importance of providing a loving, supportive environment where children feel safe, happy, and valued.
My experience also includes working within schools and residential childcare settings, where I have supported children's emotional wellbeing, social development, and daily care needs. I am trained in safeguarding, have experience as a Lead First Aider, and hold an Enhanced DBS check, giving parents confidence that their children are in safe and capable hands.
I am passionate about providing high-quality childcare in a warm, home-from-home environment. I believe in encouraging learning through play, creativity, outdoor activities, and positive relationships, while working closely with parents to support each child's individual needs and development.
My aim is to create a caring, stimulating, and secure setting where children feel valued, happy, and confident to learn and grow.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
My childcare rate is £7 per hour per child, which includes safe, reliable, and caring supervision, along with age-appropriate play, learning activities, and daily routines in a home-based environment. Breakfast and snacks will be provided as part of the service. This rate reflects the time, attention, and resources required to provide high-quality care throughout the day. I ask that parents provide a packed lunch, along with a change bag containing a change of clothes, nappies, wipes, sun hat, and suncream where applicable. Each child will have their own named box and peg for their belongings. Late collection is charged at £7 per 15 minutes (or part thereof), after a short grace period, to cover additional time and ensure fairness to all families.
