Paul
Family with 2 girls looking for Nanny from late summer.
About Me
We're a warm, busy family based in Surbiton looking for a wonderful part-time nanny to join us and help bring some extra sparkle to our daughters' days.
The girls
Our two daughters are eight and five — both at school, both full of personality, and both guaranteed to keep you on your toes, but in the best possible way. They love arts and crafts, sports and anyone willing to throw themselves into imaginative play (and a game of hide and seek). They're well-mannered, great fun, and will make you laugh every day.
The family
We're hands-on parents and very much present in the home, however, both of us have busy and demanding jobs. We like to be involved and we genuinely enjoy being around. At the same time, we completely respect that when you're working, you're working, and we know how to get out of the way and let you do your job. We're looking for a nanny who appreciates that balance and is comfortable with it — it's something we want to get right together.
My Requirements
The hours
This is a school-day role, five days a week:
7:15 – 8:15am (morning school run prep)
3:15 – 7:30pm (after-school through to bedtime routine)
Given the nature of our roles, we also need the ability for this to flex into babysitting one night (on average) a week, as well as understanding that occasionally, South West Trains can conspire against even the best laid plans!
There is also the opportunity for additional hours during school holidays too.
The role
You'll be the steady, caring presence that bookends the girls' school day — getting them up, dressed, fed and out the door in the morning, and making the afternoons and evenings genuinely enjoyable rather than just functional. Day-to-day, that includes:
Keeping the children safe, happy, and thriving
Preparing nutritious meals and snacks
Homework support and encouraging a love of reading
Engaging activities — creative play, outdoor time, trips to local parks
Keeping bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised
Maintaining consistent routines that give the girls structure and confidence
Light housekeeping support, including the girls' washing
What we're looking for
Someone experienced, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about working with children. You'll be fun and energetic without being chaotic, calm without being passive, and you'll care about the small moments as much as the big ones. Experience with school-age children is a real plus, as is a natural instinct for routine, literacy, and outdoor adventure.
