About Me
Hi, I’m Ligia, a registered childminder based in Polegate.
I offer a warm, home-from-home setting where children are cared for as individuals and become part of our family environment. As a mum myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your child, and I aim to provide the same love, patience and security that I would want for my own children.
Before becoming a childminder, I built a career as a qualified dental nurse and dental practice manager. This has given me strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and caring in all situations.
My setting focuses on learning through play, outdoor exploration, creativity and everyday experiences that help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. I believe childhood should be full of fun, curiosity, messy play, adventures and plenty of opportunities to learn at each child’s own pace.
I value building strong relationships with families and maintaining open, honest communication, so parents feel involved and reassured every step of the way.
Conveniently located just off the A27 in Polegate, my setting is ideal for local families and commuters looking for easy drop-offs and pick-ups without adding extra time to their journey.

My Experience
Looking after children has always been a part of my life. As the eldest daughter and granddaughter in my family, I grew up helping to care for younger siblings, cousins, and family friends, so being around children has always come naturally to me.
Alongside this, I have spent over 7 years working in healthcare as a qualified dental nurse and dental practice manager. These roles have helped me develop strong communication, organisation, and safeguarding skills, as well as the ability to stay calm and caring in all situations.
Combined with being a mum myself, these experiences have shaped the warm, nurturing, and family-focused approach I bring to childminding every day.
My Qualifications
I am a qualified dental nurse with over 7 years of experience in healthcare and practice management. I have completed Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children, Food Hygiene and EYFS childminding training. I am DBS checked and committed to regularly updating my knowledge and training to provide the highest standard of care for children and families.
My Availability
Monday to Fridays except bank holidays
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
£7.5/ hour standard day
£60/ day less than 8 hours
£3/ day school pick-up/ drop offs from Polegate School
£8.5/day breakfast club
£20 afterschool club
