About Me

Hi, I’m Lucy, a mum of two young children aged 1 and 3 with an NHS background.
I live with my Husband, 2 boys and our beautiful Black Labrador.
Becoming a parent has inspired me to create a warm, welcoming home where children feel happy, secure, and encouraged to be themselves. I understand how important it is for families to have someone they can trust to provide reliable, compassionate care.

I believe children learn best through hands-on experiences and exploration. I love spending time outdoors, visiting local parks, going on nature walks, and searching for mini beasts and other critters. At home, I enjoy setting up messy play, sensory activities, crafts, and games that spark children’s imagination and curiosity. My activities are planned around the EYFS framework, ensuring children are learning while having fun and developing at their own pace.

My Experience

As both a mum and someone with NHS experience, I have developed strong skills in communication, organisation, patience, and caring for others. Looking after my own children has given me practical knowledge of children’s routines, behaviour, and developmental milestones, while my NHS background has strengthened my understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing, and providing high-quality care. I am committed to working closely with parents to give every child the best possible start in a caring and supportive environment.

My Qualifications

I am fully paediatric first aid trained, food hygiene and safety. I have recently completed a course with Derbyshire county council for childcare and safeguarding.
I am currently pre registered with OFSTED and hoping to be up and running by September.

My Fees

Childminding from £5.00 per hour

I will be offering funded and non-funded hours.
