After School Nanny Job in Glasgow
About Me
After-School Nanny Needed – Bearsden (G61)
Start Date: August 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Rate: £14 – £18+ per hour (gross, dependent on experience)
We are a family in Bearsden looking for a reliable after-school nanny to care for our daughter, who turns 5 in September and is starting Primary 1 this August.
Our daughter is a very bright, happy, and kind girl who thrives on engagement and play. She has a huge imagination and a love for anything arts and crafts - if you enjoy painting, drawing, or making a bit of a creative mess, you will get on well with her!
My Requirements
The Role & What We Are Looking For
- The Routine: Collect her from school at 3:00 PM and walk back to our home (under a 5-minute walk). Look after her at home until 5:30 PM, including providing a snack and helping her wind down after school.
- Neurodiversity: We believe she is neurodivergent. To most people she just appears high-energy and bright, but she can get a bit emotionally overwhelmed when tired after a big school day and needs calm time to wind down. She also has some sensory-processing differences - because she can get engrossed in her play, she can forget to listen to her body and needs regular, proactive reminders to use the bathroom (occasional accidents do happen). We are looking for someone patient and kind who can help gently manage these moments.
- Full WFH Support: Both parents work from home. We fully respect this as a sole-charge role, but one of us is always on hand to step in and assist if needed.
Our Ideal Nanny
- Kind, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about engaging with a creative 5-year-old.
- Experience or a natural intuition with neurodivergent or high-energy children is an advantage, though not strictly essential.
- Reliable, punctual, and a clear communicator.
- Dog Friendly: We have a family dog. No walking or pet care is required
- Open to Extra Hours (Bonus): We would love someone open to occasional, ad-hoc evening or weekend babysitting for a higher rate. (Note: This would likely involve looking after her ~22-month-old little sister as well).
If you think you’d be a great fit for our family, we would love to hear from you!
