Daniel M
Full-time live-out nanny for 8-month old (starting January)
About Me
My wife and I had our first baby in April. We are both currently on leave (me until October, mom until December). We live with our baby Matthew and our cat Rufus in our North London house. We are looking for a full-time nanny to care for Matthew when we both return to work.
My Requirements
We are looking for a warm, experienced and proactive full-time nanny to care for our baby boy, who will be around 8 months old when the role begins. We currently have an excellent part-time nanny, but she can't do full-time, so we're searching again.
?**Location:** Alexandra Palace (close to Alexandra Palace station)
? **Start:** 4th January 2027
? **Hours:** Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm
? **Salary:** £15–£20 gross/hour, depending on experience
? **Role:** Sole-charge, full-time, live-out nanny
We'd like to find someone we can completely trust with our son while we work: someone kind and nurturing who will build a lovely relationship with him and make his days fun, stimulating, and secure. Our priority is finding someone who is genuinely warm, affectionate and engaged with our son, while also being reliable, sensible and proactive. We would love a nanny who takes an active interest in his development and enjoys planning age-appropriate activities rather than simply supervising his day.
**We are looking for someone who:**
• Has 5+ years' professional nanny experience, with excellent baby and toddler experience
• Has strong sole-charge experience
• Has previous experience successfully supporting children through potty training
• Is warm, calm, affectionate and genuinely enjoys spending time with children
• Is proactive and confident planning activities and outings. This would include lots of play and reading at home, as well as getting out and about to playgroups, swimming, classes, parks, etc.
• Has a good understanding of babies' and toddlers' development and milestones
• Able to take care of all child-related duties, including his laundry and bedding, keeping his nursery/play areas tidy and organised, cleaning bottles/feeding equipment, doing bath time, organising his clothes and toys, and preparing everything he needs for outings and activities.
• Has experience with weaning and has the knowledge to encourage good eating habits. She is confident in planning and preparing healthy, varied and nutritious meals and snacks from scratch.
• Has paediatric first aid training
• Has an enhanced DBS and excellent, checkable references from previous nanny families
• Speaks fluent English
• Is comfortable around cats
• Is reliable, organised and able to use their initiative
• We are a no-screen household for our baby, so we're looking for someone comfortable keeping his days active and engaging without relying on TV, phones or tablets.\
**Nice to have/It's a bonus if you:**
• Have a driving licence
• Speak Spanish (we're a Spanish-speaking household and we want our baby to learn it)
• Ofsted registered
• Are happy to cook some meals for the family (2 adults)
We expect the role to run at least until the end of 2027, with the possibility of continuing beyond that depending on our family's needs.
We would like to offer some paid trial afternoons or weekends from now until the end of the year to help us decide on the right person for the role. Please get in touch with your CV, your availability for an interview and trial, and references from previous families. Thanks!
