About Me

Specialist Childcare & Additional Needs Support
Hello, I'm Abby! I'm a friendly, compassionate and experienced childcare professional with over 10 years of supporting children and adults with additional needs. As a Learning Disability Nursing student due to qualify shortly, and a mum to a daughter with profound autism, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. I provide safe, person-centred support, helping children and families feel confident, valued and supported.

My Experience

Life's most precious moments should be enjoyed by everyone.

Whether it's attending a wedding, celebrating a birthday, enjoying a family gathering, going on holiday, spending time in the community or simply having trusted support at home, I provide specialist one-to-one support that enables children and adults with additional needs to participate safely, confidently and inclusively.

My name is Abby, and I am currently in the final weeks of completing my Learning Disability Nursing degree, with over 10 years of professional experience supporting children and adults with a wide range of additional needs. Before beginning my nursing degree, I spent five years working within residential and supported living services supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours that challenge, mental health conditions and complex physical health needs. Throughout my nurse training, I have further developed my knowledge and clinical skills through placements across community learning disability teams, children's services, rehabilitation, multidisciplinary clinics, specialist NHS services and community-based care. These experiences have strengthened my ability to deliver safe, compassionate and truly person-centred support.

Throughout my career, I have supported children and adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), autism, acquired brain injuries, epilepsy, complex neurological conditions, physical disabilities, mental health needs, rare genetic syndromes and life-limiting conditions. I have extensive experience supporting full-time wheelchair users and individuals with highly complex medical needs, including PEG feeding, medication administration, epilepsy management, personal care, moving and handling, positive behaviour support and communication support. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams and families has given me the confidence and experience to provide safe, holistic care while promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.

Alongside my professional experience, I am also mum to a daughter with profound autism and complex needs. Living this journey every day has given me a unique understanding of the challenges families face when accessing support. I know how important it is to find someone who is not only experienced and knowledgeable but who genuinely understands, listens and cares. This personal experience has shaped the way I work, allowing me to build trusting relationships with both individuals and their families.

I created this service to give families the opportunity to enjoy life's special moments with confidence and peace of mind. Whether you are looking for support at a wedding, birthday party, family celebration, holiday, community outing, appointment, or require babysitting, respite care or personal assistant support, I am here to provide professional, reliable and compassionate care that is tailored to your loved one's individual needs.

No two people are the same, which is why I take the time to understand communication styles, routines, sensory preferences, interests and healthcare needs before any support begins. Whether support involves companionship, emotional reassurance, encouraging independence, personal care, medication administration, PEG feeding, epilepsy management, mobility support or simply providing a calm and reassuring presence, my approach is always flexible, respectful and centred around the individual.

Throughout my career, I have learnt that great support is about so much more than meeting care needs. It is about creating opportunities, building confidence and helping people experience the moments that matter most. Some of the most rewarding experiences during my career have been supporting individuals to overcome anxiety, achieve goals they never thought possible and take part in activities that brought genuine joy to both them and their families. Those experiences inspired me to create this service.

When you choose my service, you are choosing someone who combines professional knowledge, extensive practical experience and genuine compassion. I understand the trust families place in the people who support their loved ones, and I never take that responsibility for granted. My aim is to provide a service that is safe, dependable and tailored entirely to the individual, allowing every child and adult I support to feel valued, respected and included.

My Qualifications

My qualifications reflect both my commitment to lifelong learning and my passion for providing exceptional care. I hold a Level 4 Qualification in Healthcare Studies and a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Learning Disability Nursing, with graduation expected in the coming weeks and a predicted First Class Honours degree. Combined with more than 10 years of hands-on experience supporting children and adults with complex additional needs, I offer families a unique combination of professional knowledge, practical expertise and compassionate, person-centred support.

My Availability

My availability is flexible and can be discussed privately to meet your individual needs. Whether you require regular support, occasional babysitting, respite care, or assistance for weddings, celebrations or special events, I will always do my best to accommodate your requirements.
