My Experience

I currently volunteer with a local Girlguiding unit (ages 4-7) and at a primary school, helping out Years 5 and 6. I have also babysat my young cousins since they were babies, so I have experience with a range of ages!

I have previously worked as an Independent Visitor volunteer in Newcastle, working 1-to-1 with a child with SEND in care, to provide an independent source of support separate to their care system. This involved taking the child out on monthly day trips of their choosing, which was a really valuable experience for me (and also great fun!).

I have experience working with children with SEND, including autism.

I’m extremely passionate about working with children, and have completed many distance learning courses (listed below) to support this. I hope to eventually train as a SEMH specialist teaching assistant!

I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

My Qualifications

I have completed numerous courses related to childcare. These qualifications include:
- Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values
- Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disability
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism
- Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

My Availability

I can be very flexible in my availability! If arranged in advance, I can do pretty much anytime - the availability calendar just represents when I can definitely do. I do just want to note that I do not have access to a car.
