Jasmine
Babysitter in Bridgwater
My Summary
About Me
I am a friendly, reliable and caring Psychology student currently home from university for the summer. I have always enjoyed spending time with children and supporting them in a positive, safe and encouraging environment. I am a patient and responsible person who understands how important it is for children to feel comfortable, valued and cared for.
I have lots of hands-on experience caring for my younger brother, who I have been closely involved with since he was born. Being around him throughout his first year and continuing to support him as he has grown into a 19-month-old has given me experience with newborn care, routines, play, development and understanding children’s individual needs.
I enjoy helping children learn, explore and have fun through activities, games, reading and creative play. I am happy to support with everyday routines, preparing simple meals, helping with homework, bedtime routines and keeping children entertained. My previous experience in care has also helped me develop strong communication skills, patience and a calm approach when supporting others.
My Experience
I have gained childcare experience through caring for my younger brother, who I have been closely involved with since he was born. This has given me experience with newborn care, feeding, changing, settling routines, play, and supporting his development as he has grown into a toddler.
I have also volunteered at St Mary’s Church as a Wellbeing and Activities Advisor, where I supported members of the community through activities and social engagement. This helped me develop patience, communication skills and the ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment for others.
Alongside this, I have professional care experience working as a Care Assistant with Home Instead, where I supported individuals with their daily needs, companionship and personal care. This role strengthened my sense of responsibility, reliability and ability to provide compassionate support.
My Qualifications
• Psychology student at the University of Southampton
• A-levels in Psychology, Sociology and Politics
• Previous professional experience in care through Home Instead
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and providing person-centred care
