About Me
We are a family of four based in St Albans, looking for some after-school help Monday to Thursday. We have a boy, 8, and a girl, 4. Our son is bright, funny and full of energy, and our daughter is playful, curious and loves being involved in everything. We also have a very friendly dog, so someone who is comfortable around dogs would be important. We are warm, down-to-earth and very hands-on parents, but with busy work schedules. We would love to find someone who can become a trusted part of our weekly routine — someone the children feel safe and happy with, and who can communicate openly with us.
My Requirements
School pick-ups, homework support, serving pre-prepared meals, and keeping the children happy and settled until we finish work. We are not looking for someone to cook from scratch, but would love help serving meals, encouraging good routines, and creating a calm, positive after-school environment. Experience with children of primary school and early years age would be ideal. We would value someone who is patient, nurturing, proactive and confident managing the usual after-school tiredness, emotions, homework and sibling dynamics. Experience with neurodiversity would be a plus as our son has recently been diagnosed with ADHD — nothing too extreme, just very energetic and emotional. We are happy to arrange an initial call or meeting to discuss the role in more detail.
