Maternity Nurse Job in London
About Me
We are a warm, friendly family based in South West London looking for an experienced maternity nurse to support us with our baby boy, Billy, who was born in mid-May 2026.
My wife Hannah and I are first-time parents and are absolutely loving getting to know Billy, but we would really value some calm, experienced and reassuring support as we continue to find our feet. I work locally and usually leave the house at around 8am, getting home at approximately 6:30pm. Hannah is at home with Billy, but as a self-employed small business owner she is still having to balance work commitments alongside caring for a newborn, which can be a lot to juggle.
We are hoping to find someone kind, nurturing, knowledgeable and down-to-earth who can support us with Billy’s routine, feeding, sleeping and general day-to-day care. We would like someone who is confident with newborns and young babies, but who is also gentle in their approach and happy to work alongside us as parents rather than take over completely.
Billy is a much-loved little boy and we are keen to give him the best possible start while also building our own confidence as first-time parents. We are looking for someone trustworthy, reliable and professional, ideally with strong references and relevant maternity nurse/newborn experience.
A calm, supportive personality is very important to us, as we would love to welcome someone into our home who feels like a reassuring presence during this special but demanding stage.
My Requirements
We are looking for someone to help for a couple of hours during the day on weekdays, mainly to lend a helping hand to my wife while I am at work.
Our baby boy, Billy, was born in mid-May 2026, and while my wife is at home with him, she is also a self-employed small business owner working from home. We are therefore hoping to find someone kind, reliable and experienced who can offer some practical support during the day, helping her balance the demands of caring for a newborn alongside keeping on top of work.
This would not be a full-time role, but more of a supportive extra pair of hands for a few hours at a time. Duties may include helping with Billy’s general care, settling, feeding support where appropriate, light baby-related tasks, and giving my wife some time to focus, rest or catch up on work.
Both of our families live a couple of hours away, so unfortunately we do not have the luxury of being able to lean on them regularly for day-to-day help. We are looking for someone warm, calm and reassuring who would be comfortable supporting us during this early stage as first-time parents.
