I have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and use its principles to plan engaging, play-based activities that promote children's learning, confidence, independence, and wellbeing. I recognise that every child is unique and tailor my care and learning opportunities to meet their individual needs, interests, and stage of development.
I hold a current Paediatric First Aid qualification, giving parents peace of mind that I am trained to respond confidently and appropriately in the event of an emergency. I have also completed training in Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, and Prevent Duty, ensuring I maintain high standards of children's safety, health, and welfare while promoting an inclusive and secure environment.
I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly update my knowledge through training to ensure I provide the highest quality childcare. By building strong partnerships with parents and carers, I work together to support each child's learning, celebrate their achievements, and help them thrive.

My current qualifications and training include:

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) – A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing through high-quality, play-based experiences.
Paediatric First Aid – Fully trained to respond confidently and appropriately in the event of an emergency, helping to keep children safe at all times.
Safeguarding Children – Trained to recognise, respond to, and report any concerns, ensuring every child's welfare is always my highest priority.
Prevent Duty Training – Understanding of my responsibilities to safeguard children and promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
Food Hygiene – Trained in safe food preparation, storage, and hygiene practices to support children's health and wellbeing.

I am dedicated to continuous professional development and regularly update my knowledge and skills through ongoing training. This enables me to remain current with best practice and provide the highest standard of childcare for every child and family I support.

My Availability

At Shellie's Shining Stars, I provide flexible, high-quality childcare in a warm, welcoming home-from-home environment.

Opening Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Friday to Sunday: Closed

I am open all year round, providing consistent childcare for families. My setting closes for up to 35 days each year, including Bank Holidays and planned annual leave. Parents and carers are given plenty of notice of any planned closures.

Funded Childcare
I offer funded childcare places and can stretch the funded childcare entitlement across the year. Rather than offering up to 30 hours funded childcare during term time only, I spread the funded entitlement over the full year. This allows eligible families to access a consistent number of funded hours each week throughout the year.
This approach helps provide continuity of care, supports children's learning and development, and offers greater flexibility for working families.

My Fees

• Childminding from £7.50 per hour

At Shellie's Shining Stars, I aim to offer high-quality, affordable childcare that provides flexibility for families and supports every child's learning and development.

Government Funded Childcare

I accept the Government's funded childcare schemes for eligible children, including up to 15 or up to 30 hours funded childcare, depending on your family's eligibility and the funding available through your local authority.

Funded hours can be stretched across the year, allowing eligible families to receive a consistent allocation of funded hours each week rather than using all of their entitlement during term time only.

Private Childcare

Private childcare is available at a rate of £7.50 per hour.
