Registered Childminder with Special Needs Experience Job in Fareham
About Me
We are a family of five living in a military home. I am in the RAF, and my wife works full-time as a regulatory officer for a dental company. We have three sons, aged 21, 13, and 6.
Our youngest son, TB, has recently been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD and displays some challenging behaviours, which we are still learning to understand and manage.
He attends a full-time mainstream school and currently uses wrap-around care.
We are seeking alternative after-school care, as a recent change in provider has affected his behaviour.
My Requirements
We are seeking someone to assist us before and after school from 26 September.
The care provider must have experience with special educational needs (SEN) and be patient with a demanding child who is still learning and practising strategies to manage his emotions. He can be very defiant.
Care will be provided at our home in Fareham, where meal preparation can also be accommodated.
As I will be deploying with the RAF until 2 December, the family requires someone to provide a one-to-one care package for our son during this period, with the possibility of extending beyond this date if it proves beneficial for creating a calmer after-school environment for him.
