My Experience

I have experience supporting young children through my Primary PGCE (3–7), including placements in a Reception class (EYFS) and a Year 2 class. In Reception, I worked closely with children aged 4–5, helping them with their daily routines, emotional regulation, social interactions and play?based activities. I supported small groups and individual children, helping them feel calm, secure and confident throughout the day.
In Year 2, I worked with children aged 6–7, supporting their independence, confidence and social development. I helped children stay focused, navigate friendships and feel comfortable in predictable routines.
Across both placements, I’ve developed strengths in building warm, trusting relationships, creating gentle and structured environments, and supporting children’s wellbeing through calm, child?led play. I hold a DBS and have safeguarding training.
