About Me
Hi my name is Katy and i am an ofsted registered Childminder-rated Good.I have worked as a early years teacher for 8 years and have been childminding 13 years.I have a son who is 12years old and a daughter who is 8 years old. I live with my son, daughter and husband in our semi detached home.
We have a caring home with lots of toys and a garden to explore. We live close to lots of parks and i am keen to take the children out and about with trips to farms, local garden centres etc.
After working in childcare i have gained lots of knowledge and experience of the early years curriculum and how to help children learn. Also i know how hard it is to leave your child while you work so i will be providing a home from home experience and allowing your child time to settle.
I also currently offer funded places and will be offering the new government funding once available.

My Experience
I have worked as a teacher in nursery schools for 8years. I have lots of knowledge of the early years foundation stage and what children need to learn. They need to feel safe and happy, have a safe environment and rich supply of toys and resources allowing them to play and learn the skills they need for life. I am aware that children learn in different ways and develop at different rates-every child is unique! The childcare i provide will meet those unique needs and allow your child to develop and grow in their own fun, exploratory, creative way!

Lots of training in play, speech and language, how children learn, story telling, childrens well being and more

My daughter is currently with Katy and absolutely loves it there. Katy is very knowledgeable and her understanding of children helped my child to transition into her setting beautifully. Amelia loves Katy's children and she always has smiles at drop off and pick up. As a teacher myself, I feel I chose the best place for Amelia and my husband and I see the difference in her compared to when she started thanks to Katy's amazing provision. Katy is also great at regularly communicating which means I don't feel I'm missing out on Amelia's day and know she is safe. Very pleased with Katy's flexibility, professionalism and ability to adapt her provision to children's needs.

Katy looked after my son of 8 months 2 days per week. As my partner and I went down to 1 car after having Rory Katy kindly offered to provide a pick up service and EVEN offered to drop me off at work for convenience. Payment was agreed for this service but it was extremely kind of her to offer and go out of her way.
Katy has a very welcoming, child friendly home with many toys, games and activities. She also took Rory out on several occasions which was great!
My son was always happy to be left with Katy and always full of smiles when he was picked up.
I recommend Katy to those in need of childcare as she is highly experienced and perfectly suited to the role as you can see she thoroughly enjoys the children's company.
