About Me
We are a small, friendly family living in Theale with our lovely 2-year-3-month-old daughter. Both my wife and I work as NHS doctors, so while we have a fairly regular routine, our shifts can sometimes be unpredictable. We are therefore hoping to find someone experienced, kind, caring and reliable who can become a familiar and trusted person in our daughter’s life.
She is a happy, energetic and affectionate little girl who loves to play, explore and be around people. We are looking for someone who will enjoy spending time with her, make her feel safe and comfortable, and become a positive part of her everyday routine.
My Requirements
Part-Time Nanny Wanted – Theale, Reading
We are looking for a kind, reliable and flexible nanny to help look after our 2-year-3-month-old daughter, starting from November 2026.
We are both NHS doctors, so we are looking for someone who can commit to Monday–Friday and is reasonably flexible when our shifts occasionally run later than expected.
? Location: Theale, Reading
Theale High Street is around 10–15 minutes’ walk from our hom, and the nursery is a further 5 minutes away. The nursery itself is approximately <1 mile from home.
? Regular hours – Monday to Friday
Morning: 6:30am–8:30am
• Help get our daughter ready for nursery
• Get her dressed
• Give her breakfast
• Take her to nursery and drop her off
Evening: 5:00pm–7:00pm
• Pick her up from nursery
• Bring her home
• Change nappy / shower and get her changed
• Give her a snack/food
• Play with her and look after her until one of us gets home.
Having a car would be highly preferred because of the nursery run, although this isn’t essential as there is a bus approximately every 15 minutes, with a bus stop just a minute’s walk from our home.
? Optional additional work
If someone is interested in taking on a few additional hours, we are also happy to consider light household work, such as:
* Cleaning/tidying
* Laundry and ironing
* Food preparation
* Other small household tasks
This is completely optional and is not required for the nanny role.
? Flexibility
The regular hours are guaranteed 5 days a week, but because we both work NHS shifts, there may occasionally be days when we need an extra 1–2 hours in the evening or a slight adjustment to the usual timings.
Most mornings should remain within the advertised 6:30–8:30am window.
? Pay & requirements
Pay: Negotiable, depending on experience and suitability.
We would like someone who:
* Has previous childcare/nanny experience
* Is reliable, caring and trustworthy
* Enjoys spending time with young children
* Can commit to Monday–Friday
* Is reasonably flexible with occasional changes to timings
* Has a valid DBS check or is willing to undergo a DBS check
* Can provide references if available
