Jaclyn
Babysitter with Special Needs Experience Job in Brighton
About Me
I’m visiting from abroad staying with my partner in the Saltdean/Brighton area with my 10-year-old son. We’re looking for occasional childcare help from someone warm, reliable, patient, and confident with neurodivergent children.
My son is bright, creative, funny, musical, energetic and curious. He is on the spectrum and has ADHD, so he does best with someone calm, kind, clear, and not overly authoritarian. He responds well to warmth, humour, predictability, and being spoken to respectfully. He loves music, science, nature, insects, the beach, and creative activities.
I’m looking for someone trustworthy who can spend time with him, keep him safe, help him feel comfortable, and ideally build a familiar relationship with him while we’re here.
My Requirements
My partner and I are wanting to have a weekly date night. Care would usually involve spending time with him at home or locally, supervising activities, helping with snacks/meals if needed, and occasionally supporting evening or bedtime routines. I may also need help for a few hours during the day or evening.
Experience with autistic/ADHD children or SEND would be ideal. The right person would be calm, patient, reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable supporting a child who may need extra time with transitions, clear communication, and gentle encouragement.
References/DBS check ideal.
