Nanny in Stamford
My Summary
About Me
Norland Nanny, returning to nannying after working in property for 30 years
My Experience
After qualifying at Norland Nursery Training College, I worked as a professional nanny for seven years with two wonderful families.
My final nanny position was with a family in Clapham Old Town, where I remained for five years. I joined the family when their first son was just 11 weeks old and stayed as the family grew to include three boys. I had sole responsibility for their day-to-day care, creating a happy, stimulating and secure environment in which they could flourish.
Our days were filled with a wide variety of activities, including swimming, singing classes, visits to parks and museums, cycling, football, tennis, creative play and plenty of arts and crafts. I always believed children learn best through play, exploration and positive experiences, and I took great pleasure in encouraging their confidence, curiosity and independence.
One of the boys I cared for is now my son's godfather, and I have recently been invited to provide newborn support when the middle son welcomes his first baby. I consider this continuing relationship one of the greatest compliments of my career.
My first position was a live-in role in Tooting Bec, caring for a five-year-old girl and her three-year-old brother. During this time I also cared for my employer's assistant's baby when she returned to work, further developing my experience with young babies alongside caring for older children.
When I moved away from London, I began a successful career in property, initially in estate agency before establishing and running my own company for ten years. More recently, I worked within affordable housing development, where I developed strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills while working with people from all walks of life. I was responsible for health and safety and risk assessments on site.
After becoming a mother myself, I continued working throughout my son's childhood, employing a nanny to support our family. Having experienced family life from both a nanny's and a parent's perspective, I have a genuine understanding of the trust parents place in the person caring for their children. We chose to have one child, but our home was always full of friends, laughter and activity, ensuring he grew up enjoying the companionship of other children.
Having returned to nannying in July 2026 I am loving working for a variety of families both daily work, overnight care and holiday nannying.
