Nanny in Bristol (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I grew up in Bedfordshire and recently moved to Bristol after spending the past year living in Australia. I graduated with a First-Class degree in Psychology, and since then I've worked in a variety of roles supporting children, families, and young people, as well as in customer-facing roles.
I've always enjoyed spending time with children and love getting involved in whatever they're interested in, whether that's playing games, getting creative, reading stories, baking, or exploring outdoors. I really value building trusting relationships with children and creating a calm, fun, and supportive environment where they feel safe and confident.
Outside of work, I enjoy discovering new cafés, going to the cinema, listening to music, keeping active, and exploring Bristol. I'm also passionate about mental health and volunteer with organisations that support people experiencing emotional difficulties.
In the future, I'd like to build a career in psychology, policy, or research where I can make a positive difference to people's lives. For now, I'm looking for a nannying role where I can become a reliable and caring part of a family's routine while supporting children to learn, grow, and have fun.
My Experience
Over the past three years, I've worked with children in both home and school settings.
Most recently, I spent a year as a part-time nanny in Australia, caring for an 11-year-old boy. During term time, I provided after-school care and helped with homework. I also took on a range of household responsibilities, including family meal preparation, laundry, ironing/dry cleaning collection, food shopping, and helping the family pack and organise for holidays and trips. During school holidays, I cared for him throughout the day, planning activities and outings to keep him engaged and having fun.
Before that, I spent a year caring for two brothers aged 7 and 11. My responsibilities included school pick-ups, helping with homework, preparing dinner, organising activities, and supporting their evening routines. I also looked after them full-time during school holidays, planning enjoyable days out and activities while ensuring they felt safe, happy, and well cared for.
Alongside my nannying experience, I worked for a year as an English Graduate Tutor in a secondary school, delivering one-to-one and small-group support to students. I helped pupils build confidence in their learning, adapted my approach to suit different abilities and learning styles, and worked closely with teachers to support students' academic progress and wellbeing.
Across all of these roles, I've built strong relationships with children and families, become someone they can rely on, and developed the patience, organisation, and communication skills needed to create positive, supportive environments where children can thrive.
My Qualifications
I have a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology where I developed a strong understanding of child development, learning, behaviour and wellbeing. Alongside my degree, I worked as an English Graduate Tutor in a secondary school, supporting students through one-to-one and small group sessions to build confidence and improve their academic skills.
I also have two years of professional nannying experience with school-aged children, giving me practical experience supporting children's routines, preparing meals, helping with homework, organising engaging activities and creating a safe, nurturing environment. In addition, I have several years of experience working in customer-facing roles, which has strengthened my communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
I hold an enhanced DBS check, have a full UK driving licence, and am reliable, organised and passionate about supporting children to thrive.
