My Summary
About Me
I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. Since qualifying in 2016, I have spent eight years teaching in mainstream primary schools before moving into a specialist SEND setting, where I have worked for the past two years.
I have extensive experience teaching Early Mathematics, Phonics, and preparing pupils for SATs, helping children build confidence and achieve their full potential. My experience across both mainstream and specialist settings has enabled me to adapt learning to meet a wide range of individual needs, ensuring every child can access and enjoy their education.
I have particular expertise in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including nonspeaking pupils. I use a patient, personalised approach, adapting teaching strategies and communication methods to suit each child’s strengths, interests, and learning style. My aim is to create a nurturing, engaging environment where children feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed.
Whether your child needs support catching up, extending their learning, building confidence, or accessing education in a way that works for them, I am committed to providing high-quality, tailored tuition that helps them thrive.
My Experience
I have taught in both mainstream and specialist SEND settings, supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs. Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in creating inclusive, engaging learning environments where every child can succeed.
In my current role as an Assistant Headteacher in a specialist SEND school, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience in supporting children with a diverse range of additional needs. This has strengthened my understanding of adapting teaching approaches, developing personalised learning strategies, and using a range of communication methods to help every child access learning. I have particular experience supporting nonspeaking pupils and working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure children receive the support they need to thrive.
My experience across both mainstream and SEND education enables me to tailor my teaching to each individual learner, building confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
